Editorial standards

Useful before discoverable.

RepayPilot publishes decision-support content only when it can help a borrower understand a rule, compare an option, identify a deadline, or take a practical next step.

Evidence and updates

We prioritize Federal Student Aid, the U.S. Department of Education, official regulations, and source documents relevant to a particular rule. Each active calculation is tied to a version and source records. A page may identify a servicer publication as a servicer source; it is not represented as a federal regulation.

Unknowns stay unknown

We do not infer payment or eligibility rules from a different program, promise savings or forgiveness, or present a scenario as personalized advice. When authoritative support is incomplete, we show that the feature requires verification.

Corrections

We review reports about outdated claims, broken citations, accessibility, and calculation behavior. See how to report a correction or view the rule changelog.
